Safety
We want to create ideas that anyone, of any age, can have fun with at home but adult supervision is recommended for all our activities. We hugely encourage tinkering with the activities (trying different materials, making things in alternative ways, getting creative etc) but please ensure you think about the safety of everyone involved (or indeed nearby!) at all times. We should also say, as this is the “disclaimer” after all, make sure you do not use or break any items which the owner/a responsible adult has not agreed to. Also, please do not use public areas to try these activities out (especially the messy ones, or any that fly off uncontrollably!) without the express permission of the property owners. In your own home/school please take steps to ensure the safety of all persons or property nearby. We have tested all of our activities with the materials we had available so please be aware that other brands/options for materials can create different effects and may need a variation to the methods provided. Use caution and research the science involved where necessary.
Reliability
We have personally tried and tested every method on this website and always aim to provide instructions that make them reliable to use at home or school. BUT science sometimes does not go exactly as expected. There are often elements that are out of anyone’s control such as changes of temperature And the way alternative materials / brands can affect how an experiment or activity runs. We offer these methods for you to have fun making, playing and tinkering with, but can’t guarantee they will always work. We encourage you to think together about what may have happened and to explore what changes you could make to get them to work as they did for us (or even better!).
